Over at ReelzChannel wesbite they have a list of the next YA books that will be as huge as Twilight and Harry Potter. Shiver is amongst the 10 books.
Will it make a good movie? Shiver has one of those all-consuming teen romances that will set Edward-and-Bella fans' hearts on fire. The fact that Sam's a werewolf should only add to the big-screen experience, with many excuses for CGI and sweeping transformation scenes. Again, Shiver has a slower pace than other books mentioned, which might pose a problem for screenwriters. However, if they're after a steady build-up to an emotional crescendo, then there'll be no cause for a rewrite.
Franchise potential? It's a trilogy, so definitely. This one's up there with The Hunger Games, Vampire Academy, and The Mortal Instruments — if we had to predict the next big franchise, it would undoubtedly be one of these.
Fandom? Shiver and sequel Linger spent weeks on The New York Times Bestseller list, and have sold thousands of copies. Stiefvater has a hugely popular blog and Twitter following, and is responsible for many items of Shiver-inspired apparel. This series is like Vampire Academy to werewolf fans, and we have no doubt Stiefvater's fans would rally the troops to take the box office by storm
